As my surgical date drew close there was one question on everyone's mind. What were my final 'plans' for the old kit? Well....not everyone's mind...alright then....I was asked more than twice. I was happy enough to have my old todger fade away and it was a bit of a surprise to be asked.
So what did I do for a finale?
I used it to pee standing up one last time in the public toilets at Independence Hall in Philadelphia.
The day prior to the refit Lauren and I went to explore the city and we had an enjoyable day hunting for John Barry's grave in the old graveyards of the city.I had a vague idea of the church's name but we were having a lot of fun meandering among the multitude of church yards. It was no time at all before we located the bold Commodore's place of rest.He had some illustrious company in Old St.Mary's.
Heading back early( Herself was en route with the lads and certain prep lay ahead) I ducked into the toilets across from the Liberty Bell complex.I'd estimate the last time they were cleaned at about the time of the signing of the Declaration Of Independence.Blech.
So there I was in a stall with a broken lock and reminders of a previous users presence. If I pushed the door shut it would stay in place but not with my purse and camera hanging on the back. The hover option left the door tantalizingly close to my left arm but it could not be done.So with all the solemnity such surroundings could lend me I put my back to the door and ,for the very last time from the standing position, fired for effect.

Look Now we have pee equality! O wondrous, wondrous marketplace of ideas!
Devin,
Once again we have found similar paths, though my last 'stand and be counted' was at home, it was with similar significant thoughts and a smile.
Your new 'stick' buddy

You know the Anonymous One
good for you, sugar! every important event should have some ritual (no pun intended) attached to it ;-)
xoxoxo
Anonymous III -- do I know you?!
Hi Devin, you sound in good spirits. Glad to hear it, hope the recovery is going well.
Lots of Love
Maz
Devin, I think that was a very appropriate way to go!
comments with "spare prick" spring (oh, Haw haw) to mind but I haven't had coffee yet so someone please formulate
I hear you sent it to Oregon for police training.
Sam,
Now why didn't I think of that?
A.
Pisters! ;)
Tracey,
Whuh?
Savannah,
Wait...peeing across a midden in Philly is a ritual? Heh.
LC,
I was asking the same question.
Maz,
Thanks.I'm doing fine and getting a bit faster every day.Love it.
Margaret,
I do like my special time in public toilets so I do.
EGW,
Sad to say it wasn't spared.
Bock,
Fuck sake sham..I think that's the most offensive thing you've ever said to me.Very well done old chap.
if that's not one of the most poetic posts i've ever read, i don't know what is. brava.
Not John Barry who wrote the Bond music? Did he die?
I think if I had ever been able to pee standing up I'd really, really miss it.
If it's in Oregon I'm gonna ... oh, never mind!
Fascinating sort of celebration, or ritual, or whatever. Do you miss it? (silly question, I know)
Hope your recovery is going nicely, and quick - how is it, anyway?
And caro - naw, take my word for it, you wouldn't miss it. I haven't peed standing up for ages, not even out in the woods, and don't miss it a bit. It may be a little inconvenient to squat sometimes, but standing just feels... wrong.
I try to avoid the public toilets in Philly, Devin. Go into a hotel instead. There's always usually one around reception and they're often very fancy.
